My God. Selling a bike locally is ... infuriating. Nothing but low-ballers, wheeler dealers, tire kickers and bike flippers. I guess the reality is I'm fairly new to selling cars and bikes and wasn't expecting this. I'm pretty much trying to scare away nearly everyone but a passionate RC buyer now with some pretty cynical text in my ad.
You know, when I bought this exact bike, I knew I wanted only a black RC51 and when I saw it locally I loved it. I did, one time, tell him (and it was true) that $6,000 was beyond my budget and asked if he could come down a couple hundred. He didn't, that was that. I came back with 6 grand and didn't regret it.
I just went and looked at another bike recently. I asked if he'd delist it and if so, not only would I give him a non-refundable deposit, I'd give him $100 MORE than he was asking. I didn't walk around his bike with a magnifying glass for 90 minutes trying to find every flaw to talk him down in price. This guy was so cool (normal?) that he refused the extra $100. Just nice people being nice. WTF.
Guy was selling bike, I look at bike and ask if it's worth the price, it is. I'll buy it. Where the F are more people like me in the world? Everybody's got to make a deal, be a wheeler dealer player baller. FFS.
