If I'd been the rider I'd have taken the cop's number, filmed the damage on the rear & where he'd hit with his car and recorded location, time of the evening, etc. I'd also ask to see his ID and read it out loud for the film. He had all the evidence he needed right there to prove it was the cop's fault.

Rear ending the guy then saying braking's illegal (He didn't even slow down significantly!) is clearly not justifiable.

I don't think I would have remained calm like that rider did. My guess is the rider questioned himself or maybe thought he actually did something wrong. Either way, if you're rear ended, it's their fault for following too close.

I can believe what a doucebag that cop was, I've met one or two like him over the years.
