Rossi's Pink Floyd Helmet

At this past MotoGP in Misano, Valentino Rossi wore a special helmet to remember the passing of his good friend Marco Simoncelli.
Rossi chose the Pink Floyd "Wish You Were Here" album as the basis for the helmet design (BTW I'm a huge Pink Floyd fan).
Just as that album was Pink Floyd's homage to Syd Barrett, the same theme was used by Rossi to remember Marco.
I've arranged the photos to follow the lyrics around the helmet crown.
I seriously doubt there will ever be a replica of this helmet produced.

That might be the first replica helmet that I'd really consider buying

Good work SubSailor!
Another fourth place for The Doctor this weekend.
Simoncelli would have had the bike Bautista's riding. No seamless trans for him yet, but how cool would it be to have Simoncelli? I bet he'd be in the top 5 or 6 this year on that satellite Honda.

Thanks Subsailor. A great post as usual from you.

Yeah, I'd buy that helmet if I could. It's awesome and a great tribute to Marco.
Would be so much greater if he were still here...

Maybe race bikes should include a leverage point for the foot or leg.

Maybe a protruding bar above the toe ... something like a road racing bicycle clip, but not so restrictive.

Or something above the knee.

I know Simoncelli's loss of balance off the side of the bike doesn't happen often, but a stabilizer like I describe would help all racers get further off the bike, and stay there more securely.
