New 2014 EBR 1190RX

The new Erik Buell Racing 1190RX finally appeared in Orlando.
419 lbs wet (without 4.5 gal. fuel), 185 HP, and 101.5 ft/lbs torque.

Also uses conformal LED headlights around a RC51-ish type front intake.
Showa forks and shock, and aluminum rims instead of magnesium to hold costs down (but upgradeable from EBR parts).

That bike is a mish-mash of way too many styling cues that do NOT play well together.

The rear wheel is hideous
Those headlights are a mess
The tail unit screams RC8, but doesn't match up well with the bulky frame
The belly pan/frame/swingarm area just doesn't look right

I personally really like the styling and a bonus it's made in the USA.

A few other tidbits for the EBR 1190RX.
Wet weight without fuel is 419 lbs., full wet weight is 446 lbs.
It also comes with a 21 step traction control system.
The conformal LED headlight output is at the legal limit of 2000 lumens.

But then, EBR mentioned that it plans on racing in WSBK next year.

SubSailor, you gonna make it out to OC Convention Center this weekend to check it out in person? I'm thinking about going but it's a bit of a haul from Tampa.

Better read the fine print....maybe assembled in the U.S.A.

Nice bike, they had these in Indy this year too. I spoke with their reps., they are trying to get to a mass produced level in the high teens some day.

Can't tell for sure from the pics, but the quality looks like Pontiac.

Or Yugo?

That headlight area pic looks very 'cheap plastic'.

Why two different wheels??

I agree about the styles mish-mased together. Some of it is "fat bike" and some of it is "skinny bike", and the way it's put together here isn't very good.

If you knew nothing of the specs, just saw these pics, I'd say it looks like a cheap Chinese knock-off of a KTM-meets-RC51. The KTM looks rich. The RC51 looks rich, and solid. This red-headed stepchild of theirs looks like it's probably headed to catch the short bus.

Did I need to say "cheap" before "Chinese"?

I'm thinking about going.
A buddy of mine is going this Saturday and asked if I'd like to go.
And it's a longer haul from Sarasota.
To make it more entertaining, we were going to do back roads to Lakeland and then head up I-4 to Orlando.
