Roberts, Lawson, Rainey, Swantz, Doohan, Spencer, and on and on...

Vicious, evil 500 2-strokes that would slam you into the ground or fling you to the moon.
Razor thin power bands, with no electronics by today's standard.

These were tough dudes.

Very cool, They were tough, bikes were heavy, and the tires were nowhere near todays standards. WERA vintage races have some pretty neat machinery that show up, these guys create some impressive hybrids, and they really rumble the pits, I remember hearing a machine like that blown up engine on WTF, some big multi cylinder two stroke im remembering he said 750cc IT WAS INCREDIBLE. And the rider said it was scary fast and scary unreliable- but the sound and the smell...

The best era for sure. Four strokes and the electronics coming with them killed motogp, specifically the 800cc..
