Rare Britten V1000 Test Ride Video

There are only 10 in the world, and most are museum displays.
But MCN was able to take a rare test ride on a Britten V1000.
Pay attention to some of the features when the remove the bodywork.

There is no bike today that encompasses all the features of this bike.
And since this bike is worth $1M NZD, unfortunately they couldn't ride the bike at its fullest capability.

I'm not quite sure, but this may be the V1000 rescued from the building that partially collapsed during a recent earthquake.
Against risk of possible death, they rescued the bike from being crushed.
They found it laying on its side after the quake.

That was a factory Ducati that the Britten blew by on the back wheel.
Several years ago, there an article on the Britten, and they interviewed the rider of that Ducati.
I loved it when he said "Yeah I've raced against a Britten. Up to when we crossed the starting line".

The Britten had 170-180 HP back in 1994. And John Britten was working on a V1200 at the time of his death.
That bike could have made possibly 190-200 HP in all its carbon glory.
Sadly, we'll never know what next great achievement Britten would have displayed for the world.

He was an absolute genius.....I have read MANY articles on him and his creations.
That bike is just pure awesome. I wish he could have continued his designs....was a world contender for sure. The Late Joey Dunlop even took out the Britten!!!!, I like that vid too !!!

This will have to do.
At one time, the Britten was the fastest bike at IOM.
Look how hard the front suspension is working.

The Britten in action.
Unfortunately no bike sounds, just soundtrack.
Great watching the bikes in action though.

Man, I just love it how he puts the front wheel up like " I'm riding the baddest shit here!!!! "
Nothing like watching two of JB's V1000's pit against each other

Yeah - I remember watching these at the superbike races at Laguna - this thing would accelerate like a rocket along the front straight to turn two with the front wheel kissing the air........and talk about about beautiful exhaust note......
