I think that is a pretty bad percentage play ... not getting out of the throttle, or changing your path, will likely get you killed more often than give you the safe passage that this lucky fellow received.

I am with 92VFR on this, I would have at least got outta this gas and did evasive action, If you watch very close, he actually starts braking while reading what the bike is going to do, also slight movment from the bars as he is not sure which way to go and just drives on through.

At that pace it really doesn't look like he had much time to respond. He did get out of the gas though. You can see the revs drop right as the downed rider becomes visible.
