New ,from Minnesota .

Hi everyone ! I'm new here and new to the RC but not new to bikes . I've had my 2001 for a month now and I've loved every minute . So far I've done the complete flapper mod and complete pair mod . Also threw on some new Pilot Power Pures . Its has 18,000 miles on it . Has a PCII , 15/41 vortex spockets , And Jardine RTone 2-1 system . Thats pretty much it for mods. Next month I plan to upgrade to PCIII usb and start the tuning process . I'm sure I'll be chiming in here for tips ...looking forward to learning

Prior to the RC I rocked a 2004 Sportster chop .

Thanks !
Yeah huge difference ! Coming from a bike with no suspension out back and then on to what is basically a track machine is quite a experience . Its a whole new concept of riding ... witch I wanted . Hello RC ! I loved my Sporty and made it my own, but I was ready for a change and a new project. The fact that I was able to stick with a V-Twin makes me happy . I've ridden plenty of my friends I4's and those high revers just never felt quite right for me .
The hardest thing for is gonna be figuring out the suspension . I'm used to bare-bones , hardtail , back wrecking riding . Anything feels smooth as glass and as sharp as a razor compared to my old bike so it might take me a bit to figure out if something ain't quite right or if it can be improved. The fact that I know the handling can still be greatly improved is almost unimaginable .

Another thing that I'm really digging about the change is wearing a Helmet . I've never worn one until now . Couldn't stand them before , but now I feel naked without it . Its so nice not to get nailed in the face by rain , road debris , and bugs ! And the wind noise reduction is great too! Also add's a little more confidence

If your photos are current, it looks like you still have the stock suspension.
Wait until you get your forks setup (springs, oil, valves) and a high quality shock (ohlins, penske, elka) installed and setup. It gets even better.

Plus 18K miles is barely past the 1st valve adjustment check interval.
She's just barely broke in.
