New RC51 owner from Socal :D

Just thought I'd say hello to everybody.

After getting an sv650 for my first bike, I just fell in love with twins and have been eyeing an RC for some time now. I had the intention of buying one next year but my buddy sent me a craiglist ad that was pretty promising. I picked up the 02 rc yesterday for $2200 with bunch of extra parts. It's definitely not a looker and will take some time to get into fighting condition both in terms of wiring and cosmetic, but it'll definitely be a labor of love.

Hope to help out as much as I can here.

-Chris

Chris, do u know me?? because your story is the same as mine..........have a '06 SV650S as well and fell in love with the torque and put the RC on "that" pedestal. Finally picked an '03 up AUG of '09. Still have the SV though, love the MPG on that thing. Nice too meet you bud.

What part of So Cal are you in? I am in Chula Vista or south san diego. Congrats on the ride. I had a couple SV650's and loved them along with 2 MH900E ducatis and a PS1000LE Ducati. Hondas where its at with the RC!

Funny how twins find a way to a persons heart. I was content with staying with the sv650s, but after riding my buddies TL1000R, needless to say I fell in love with the liter twins. I do believe I just bought the bike of my dreams. Maybe a zx14 a little down the line just to keep the garage and misses happy.

Thanks for the welcome everybody.

James, I definitely understand where you are coming from. I almost want to keep my SV if anything for the sole fact that suzuki won't be making them in the near future and it's a great little bike to just go crazy on.

Cbrbear, I'm in the OC. Huntington Beach to be exact. I will say the ride own the 5 to your neck of the woods is great. I just don't know how comfortable it'd be on the RC LOL.
