New to the forum

Hello,

new to the forum, plan on picking up my RC tomorrow. Have always liked these bikes and finally decided to get one. A guy passed me down at the beach on one a few years back and ive been in love ever since...so I sold the R1 the other day and found an RC on CL. Its an 02 with most of the standard mods, has 20k mi and a small dent in the tank. Guys asking 4900...any thoughts would be great, i see the price on these vary, just wanna make sure im getting a decent deal. Apparently it has also been maintained and setup by the local honda dealership since new. Thanks

Prices are all over the board. I would shop, shop, shop around. I went on forums, craigslist, cycletrader, etc. Found that the prices really do go all over. With a dent in the tank I would be concerned with it being dropped/down.

Good luck with the buy though, hope it all goes well.

I second that. Keep looking, in the past couple months a more than a few new members scored low milage bikes and really clean with mods for a better price than the 4900 you're talking about. I live in CA. Good inventory out here, maybe I'm a little biased

I would keep looking you could score a mint bike with under 10k for 4500. Tanks are VERY expensive too....figure 500 easy.

Keep looking most def!!!!

I am shopping for two friends right now and have been for one of them for several months. You can get twice the bike for that. Just looked at an 06 for my buddy 10k miles mild mods $4800, I think it is in FL.

Dang, prob should of checked the replies on here first. Well i went ahead and got it, paid 4700, has new two bros, ohlins damper, pcIII, vortex sprockets -1+2 and chain, braided brake lines, flush mounts, undertail. Not sure what the flapper mod or soft rev is yet but ill check when I find out. My thought was that it wasnt too bad of a price, i looked at another 02 for 6200 bone stock and an 03 or 04 that had been wrecked w/salvage title for 4800. Another up around philly i think the guy was asking like 5500 for an 00.

either way, price aside, im happy with it. I absolutely love riding it. A lot funner that my 05R1 was. Now to find some leathers and hopefully get some track time in this summer.
