Hi all!

Wow, it's been 14 years since I first threw my leg over a brand new 2000 RC 51. I only had her for 5000 miles but man she sure was fun.

I've been dreaming of torqe monsters again and did a search and found this site. You guys posting up all the cool pics have me thinking about selling my toy car to get a toy bike. Ive got a commuter bike that gets great milage, thinking I need something sporty to fill my need.

I started off my search looking at the new Panigale's, haven't ridden one yet but from what I've read they are more high revving and not so torqy. Anyone have first hand experience?

Looking forward to using the site and deciding what I'm going to do.

Welcome Erok. Have never even seen a Panigale R in the flesh let alone ridden one. Have a custoemr that has one but hasn't brought it round for me to see up close (maybe he's pulling my leg?). Given the comparative entry fee of the Duc, no way I'd jump there personally.

Duct tape can't fix stupid...but it sure helps muffle the sound

Panigale R is still 1200cc for homologation.
But now the regular Panigale is now 1300cc with 205 HP.
2015 will be an interesting year, if you can afford it.

The Asphalt & Rubber site you posted yesterday says "All three models will sport a class-leading 205 peak horsepower ..."

And, "For the Ducati 1299 Panigale and Ducati 1299 Panigale S trim models, the high-revving Superquadro motor gets a displacement increase to 1,285cc, via a larger bore size (116mm). The Ducati 1299 Panigale R will remain at the original 1,198cc displacement, in order to comply with World Superbike regulations."

1285cc??! Haysoose Crisis that is huge ... where will this end?! I remain tuned in!

Thanks all. To be more clear, I was talking about the more streetable 899. It happens to be at a price I can afford, the others...not so much
