I'm looking to buy a 2002 with 16k on the clocks. It's at a dealer, so probably a bit over priced at $4995?
I'll post a link the the ad.
I currently ride an '01 Speed Triple. Well I'm not really riding anything right now here in Boston. I like bikes that tend to set themselves apart. Also looked at the Aprilia Mille, very hard to find around here, not to mention parts and dealer support. Anyways, off to do some research in old threads for potential issues. Cheers! http://worcester.craigslist.org/mcd/4813442768.html
Hope they got it mapped correctly with that single sided can too? Any thoughts?

Try to get the required 16K mile valve clearance inspection - and ask for numbers. The valves may not even need adjusting, but they still need to be checked.
Does it have a Power Commander to manage the fuel mapping for the Jardine system? Don't be surprised if you soon want to change for a normal exhaust system. You can find a used header for around $100-150. Then choose some slip-ons. $500 - $1500 depending on what you choose.
Also take a look into the trunk area and see if the wiring harness and battery tray is tidy. Sometimes they get butchered when installing the Hotbodies (or any other brand) undertail. Are the relays still hanging properly on the tangs by the taillights?
Depending on how long it's been sitting, the fuel pump regulator (FPR) may need replacing too. It's a common failure for stored bikes. The stale gas rots the diaphragm membrane inside the regulator. Makes the bike run kinda crappy and won't give any FI code. See if they will include a new one. The part only costs about $50 and it takes about 20 - 30 minutes to install.
For my area - $5,000 is pretty decent for that particular bike. It sure looks clean in the pics - only thing I could pick on is those crappy flushmount signals. Take a look and make sure they didn't drill a big hole thru the inner front cowl to make clearance for them. (technically they aren't even legal in CA).
