Just got an RC.

Hi everyone. My name's Tim and I finally pushed the button on an RC a few days ago. This is my first full on sportbike. Previous bikes in my 9 years of riding are: 1984 Sabre 700 (my first bike, just sold), 1982 Yamaha Maxim750 (sold), and a 1998 VFR.

My plan was to get a fairly well sorted out bike but unfortunately I got a Frankenbike that has an ever growing list of things that aren't right. This will be a learning experience and I'm glad I have a factory shop manual and this site to help me sort this bike out. I've been lurking here quite a bit the last few days and I'm doing my best to find what I need without posting questions that have been asked and answered a million times before. From the looks of it, I'll have a few questions posted before too long LOL.

I guess that's it for now. Hoping I can make a few new motobuds here in the near future.

Congratulations and good luck. My only advice is that fixing and a project is fine and can be fun, but going farther to minty can get pricey compared to buying it that way. Aside from that or major problems, enjoy.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks man! I've learned a ton about these bikes in the last few weeks and I intend to make this bike a great one when I'm finished.
