Hello from Central Florida

Well it all started when I traded my 2007 WR450 supermoto for the RC I fell in love with. I've owned my 2002 RC for about 2 years now without any troubles up untill recently. Old girl has lost her spark and I'm working on getting her back on the street. I plan on attempting the CDI repair (if that's the problem). But if not, I'm planning to continue the trouble shooting and hopefully by using the brains/ previous posts of some of the more knowledgable RC owners that reside on this site I will be able to get her going again. I'll get some pictures up here soon. But until then safe riding to all

Welcome ... and where is "Central Florida" for you? My "N Central FL" is Gainesville. However, I don't even have an RC51 anymore ... just still check in here during my 'smoke breaks' (I don't smoke) as this crowd is more um 'mature' than other sport bike forums I've been on.

Post pics when you get a chance ...

Deltona to be exact. I'm in Gainesville a couple times a month. It's the girlfriends senior year at UF, so not for much longer. Well I just got off work so when I get home I'll get some up. And that's good to know about this forum

The most recent, still working on getting 100% mathcing fairings. I've got the tail section off because I'm messing with the CDI right now.

Keep chasing the gremlins, hopefully it pays off.
Ex, did I miss something, when did you get rid of your bike?
Mods/admin, maybe we need a thread for peeps to build post counts to allow pics. Otherwise a certain 'mad' guy will have to roast all the newbies about the lack thereof.

Duct tape can't fix stupid...but it sure helps muffle the sound

I did the opposite. Got rid of the Hayabusa and got the RC51.

As for the spark, check that you're getting output from the ignition pulse generator located inside the alternator cover.

Download the service manual online: http://www.rc51.info/index.php?page=service
Use the troubleshooting section isolate the fault.

I went out to the garage and told my ZX not to get bothered by shamefully being compared to a Hayabusa.
