new guy from Pittsburgh

Hi everyone!

My name's Greg and after almost 10 years of wanting an RC, I finally have one! I've tried a lot of different bikes during my riding career trying to find "the one" and I'm hoping the RC could be it. I've had parallel twins, v-twins, inline triples, and inline fours from Japan, Germany, Italy, and England.

I wanted one that was as close to stock as possible and I found it a couple weeks ago using a craigslist search. It ended up being near DC but the owner was nice enough to bring it a little closer so we met in Maryland.

The only modifications are Jardine slipons, a PC3, and -1/+2 gearing. He gave me the stock mufflers too which are in great shape, but it sounds so good and runs amazing with these so I'm going to ride it like this.

Whoa! A 2003 RC in Pittsburgh. Where exactly are you? I should be taking mine into work in Squirrel Hill on Thursday, it's supposed to be 60 ish degrees.

Bike looks like it's in fantastic shape. We should meet up this summer!

Here is more recent photo of mine. The 03 paint scheme is my favorite, and I waited a few years till I found the right one.

thanks for the welcome everyone!

Gibbonater- I'm just south of downtown in the Brookline-ish area. I'm be down for meeting up to ride, but be warned I'm slow as crap.

This does seem to be a good forum from what I've seen so far. I enjoy seeing people doing the big $$$ builds and others preserving them. Very few have cheap, distasteful modifications.

Nice bike!!! I think you'll enjoy it. I got mine a little over a month ago. Only small knock is maybe it's not as comfortable overall as some bikes, but it's waaaay more fun.
