help with clutch slave cylinder

hi everyone, hoping for some help please. I have my first RC and absolutely love it... Its a 2001 with 6000 miles. I bought the bike down south last summer so she has never seen a cold winter like we get here in Michigan. I stored the bike in the unheated garage for the winter. I went and picked her up a week ago and road for about 20 miles home. Then i proceeded to change the oil and do a few small mods such as flush mount turn signals, things like that.. well i went to ride her and found i had no clutch, upon inspection i found a leak at the slave cylinder for the clutch. I then called the dealer and asked their thoughts, they told me to replace the gasket and all should be good, so I ordered it and replaced it. Well i am just learning about bikes so i assume the dealer would know what they are talking about but after installation of the gasket, she still leaks! I chatted on Facebook with a few people and they told me the gasket is just to keep dust out?!?! That there was another problem so i should just replace the slave itself? Well my question for everyone is What should i do? Im having a hard time finding a new slave anywhere besides the dealer that don't know what they are doing obviously. Is there any aftermarket places I can get this from?

Pull that slave apart and inspect it. Replace what's needed, ie the internal seals.

Welcome, too bad about your leak. Pretty sure that slave should be totally rebuildable. Hopefully one of the brighter wrenches here can assist with that, I'm not much good at anything beyond replacing fluids, brakepads and such.

Duct tape can't fix stupid...but it sure helps muffle the sound

Pull the slave apart, and replace parts 6, 9, and 13.
I'm betting that will stop the leak.
