Welcome

As a veteran of both the SP1 and SP2, can you give any first-hand feedback regarding the differences between the two?

2006 Black Edition SP2
- Stickerless black...giggity
- Assorted stone chips
- Multicolor bug splats, updated weekly
- Custom boot scratches and crash marks on the tailpiece
- Scuffed bar weights & brake lever from asphalt acrobatics
- Road grime under the fender and tail
- Leo Vince exhaust
- Otherwise OEM, not gonna make BOTY any time soon

HOE-LEE SHEE-YIT, the TORQUE!!!

Welcome. Although I only went to Scotland once for a week some 25 years ago, it remains indelibly beautiful in my mind. A great place to own an SP, assuming there's no danger of getting caught enjoying it fully.

Would also be interested to hear what your experiences are of SP1 & SP2 compared.

There's a lot of knowledge & enthusiasm for SP's here, but few have owned both SP1 & SP2. Post pics when you can too please.

Thanks for the welcome, the sp2 is just that bit smoother & nicer to ride than the sp1, but the sp1 was the most invigorating ride on 2 wheels, should never have sold the sp1 but an 04 plate RSVR was on offer, excellent bike, then a 1999 Ducati 996 which I thought was going to self destruct every time I went out, the sp2's a keeper.

Once again Cheers

Welcome Davie,

Some great scenery up there, just of late it seems a snow mobile would be the best way to appreciate it.

Nice to see another UK member.

Great bunch on here, just watch out for Duckhunter he's our resident pusher, and he will get you hooked on a carbon habit before you know what's happened.

996's are cheap now and I recently begun to feel tempted, but then I remembered the maintenance and build quality. My brother's 916 has cost him a lot, incl. an engine rebuild. Meh, not for me. It's why I bought an SP instead!

I see Aprilias cheaply too, better than a Ducati but parts availability, etc. would bug me and they're not so pretty in my eyes.

The SP's have all I need. Someday I'd like to ride a sorted SP1 for a day so I can feel the difference.
