Sort of new from Arizona

Hello all,

I've actually been registered here for some time but I've never posted until recently. I have an '02 RC that I found on eBay back in 2007 with only 60 miles on it. I had been living in Germany serving in the Air Force for several years, and in fact my riding buddy and I spent a lot of time at the Nurburgring, riding our bikes and cars on both the big and small track. At the time, I owned a ZX-9 followed by a 929RR, both of which had more than a few laps there. Every once in a while I'd see an RC51 at the Ring, and the bike always struck a cord. Eventually I started checking eBay every once in a while to see what the RC market looked like, and after returning to the US, I stumbled on the bike I bought. I loved it from the start and never plan to get rid of it.

The bike at this point has several mods done, including cams and pistons. I'll share more in another post, including dyno runs.

Welcome to the forum, great place for rc community.

I just picked up a 929RR Erion Racing edition... it is going to be the summer steed while my Sp1 gets finshed up.

Germany would be a great place to get around by motorcycle and the legendary track would be a blast on the Sp.

We have another member gts455 over in Germany now... he has a pretty sweet Sp1 build as well.

Welcome to the forum, and enjoy the inferno coming in 2 months. Not sure what your experience is with AZ life, but get in any riding you can now because hell is on it's way until October.
If I ever get a day off I might be available to ride.

I had a 2000 Euro-spec one; really enjoyed it. Wouldn't mind having another if I could find one in good shape to be honest.

It was awesome in every way, except for winter time which could last long (just cold and rainy for months on end). The summer weather could be rainy too though. What made riding over there is that a lot of the back roads are just really old farm roads that the Germans paved over, and none of them are straight!

I've been here for over 8 years now; this is my 9th summer. I wouldn't say I'm used to the heat yet, but it's no longer a significant emotional event to experience it.

I'm in South Scottsdale, right off the 101 near old town. I'll be headed to the Pavilions this Saturday evening (7 PM or so).

I'm in Cave Creek, just a few miles up the road. Been out here since 2006 and hating the brutal summers more each year.
