Checking in from Kansas City

Hey, guys.

I've had my RC for about 2 years and love it.

Next year, my buddies and I are considering taking our sportbikes (most are of the CBR flavor) for an extended ride to Indy.

SO, I'm focusing on finding random parts that the old girl needs (softer seat, new rear shock, etc....).

In the mean time, I look forward to getting to know this community better.

Cheers,
B

Nope, haven't been to Gower.

But, I do think the roads are better up in that area.

Meh. Good roads in NE MO are few & far between. You can head out East to the other side of the state around Farmington or heading South is a good option too as you can head down through Eminence and on into Arkansas with some of the best roads in the entire country for motorcycles.

Beggars can't be choosers, right?

From my perspective, NE MO roads are better than the simple grid lines we had for roads growing up in Central KS.

I agree with you that there are some great roads closer to St.Charles and St.Louis. I drove a few in my S2000 years back going to Hermann.

A trip to the Ozarks are definitely going to happen later this Summer.

Merriam.

Are OZ Cycles and 50Hwy the only two salvage yards we have to hunt for "retired" bikes?

You'll find more parts and better priced here that at eother of those 2 places. I suggest avoiding those 2 places like the plague.

Yer not supposed to actually be riding the bike anyway. Your supposed to park it on the street in Westport so that everybody can look at it in awe as they walk by

Wow! That bad of an experience, huh?

I went to OZ once, nearly 8 or 9 years ago and just "window shopped" without actually buying anything.

The things I'm looking for don't need to be new and shiny. Lots of the items on this site are in pretty good condition and command a price that compares. So, I figured I might find "value" in scavenging for a used Sargent seat or less-used rear shock from a wadded-up bike.

Thanks for the advice,
