I'm Will, aka egman702. I recently sold my 2007 repsol cbr1000rr to get a 2015 repsol. but after seeing one in person, I kind of dont care for the body style. So I thought I'd see if anyone was selling an Rc51 close to me, and to my surprise there were three for sale. Of the three, one was being sold by a fellow Oklahoma Subies member. I drove up to him two weeks ago, and immediately bought this. These pics were taken the following day after purchase. I has Jardine Exhaust, Hot bodies under tail, some sort of generic led flush mounts. Since then, I've shimmed the rear shock 5.7mm, put on new tires, new mirrors, usb charger with magnetic phone holder, bled the clutch and adjusted levers, changed the oil and coolant.
To be honest, I bought it because of A. the rarity of the bike and B. I thought it would be cool to have a v-twin since I've never had one. After riding it on the test ride and the week that followed, I thought the bike was fun, but didn't compare in any way to my '07 RR. But after shimming the rear and doing A LOT of suspension adjustments along with new tires, I have to say I have it dialed in to what feels almost identical to my RR. In two weeks of owning it ive put just over 1000 miles on it. I'm lucky enough to get to ride to work and back every day.
That all being said, I'm more than glad to be part of the Elite Rc51 owners club
I have some more parts coming, so I'll update pics from time to time.
