Newb from Arizona

Hey guys,

Thru some trading I ended up with an 01 RC51 in not so good condition. 39k on the clock and lots of funky wiring and missing pieces. She runs like a top and has been on the road recently. Shes just not up to my safety and reliability standards yet. Trying to find my way around. I decided I'd join up and see if I can't get this little girl all fixed up. She's rough but I like her personality. It's not my first rodeo so I'm sure in the end it's not the best financial decision but oh well.

Thanks to everyone in advance for all the information I will be reading. Wish me luck.

Thanks. I'm gonna try to post a picture. Someone really beat her up. Some sort of homemade undertail, fan turns on with the key, the list goes on. I've got a lot of work ahead of me.

Welcome to the forum! I'm in Ahwatukee and am building an 03. Let me know if you need anything. I just completed all the wiring on mine.

Welcome. Other than the colour, I've seen worse starts. A little TLC and she's back to rights.

Duct tape can't fix stupid...but it sure helps muffle the sound

I've been hoping to bump into an rc51 locally. The previous owner really just did his own thing on this bike. I'd like to see what goes where that I can't figure out thru the service manual and pictures online. But I've got time on my side.

It's pretty much the same color that my SV1000s was. I disliked it then too. It will be changed asap. I'm really hoping to get this thing on the road before the years over. Enjoy the "winter" riding out here.
