Hey everybody! I just became the proud owner of a 2000 RC51 after I drove my buddy's off a cliff.
I locked up the rear tire and shot off the edge at about 15 mph. I went down first and the bike second, we danced for about 350 ft before I could dig my feet in and slow down. I spent all day in the ER, no broken bones, hardly any scratches. Just half a stick lodged in my ass LOL
We got the bike back up the ledge by throwing a 70's Cadillac hood down and winching the bike back up on top of it. The whole frame is straight, forks (pending) seem to be ok, calipers and disks are fine, and the ground took more punishment than the engine did.
The fairings are beat to crud, so I'm making the world's most hideous street fighter as of now. If anyone has experience with this awful transformation, I can use all the tips and caveats I can get
I'm also in the market for a few odds-n-ends, as not everything made it back up in one piece, my clutch cover included!
Anyways, it's great to be here and I look forward to meeting you all!
