Thumbs up Old bike, New addict!

Good morning from Sunny Florida!
This morning when I woke, there was a surprise in the garage! A lovely '03 SP2! It probably shouldn't be that much of a surprise as I drove down in the truck yesterday to collect it, but with having 2 major strokes in the last 6 weeks, everything is a surprise!
Basically, I'm a well traveled Irishman who now finds himself in Florida with a means and capability to fulfill a promise to myself. Previously having ridden most brands including Yamaha, Ducati, Moto G and Honda, the RC was a love affair that has simmered for years and now is a goal driven process.
So, like many, for years I was married and not allowed the plaything that I wanted, then divorce came and a new lease on life. With a much more understanding girlfriend she made me a deal. I can have a second bike(I have a cruiser VTX1300R) but only ride it once I've got my recovery handled and I'm nearly back to safe. That means I have the chance to do all the maintenance, little fixes and upgrades I want while I'm slowly getting better and slowly drool at it's beauty before it's new unveiling!

Looking forward to the experience and my plan is to be an active member, I'm sure to learn to start but hopefully assist in the future.

Irish Ed

Welcome aboard; you'll find plenty of good info for all your tech, upgrade and maintenance needs in past threads here on our message board (the search function is quite handy).

Don't forget to add a copy of the official service manual to your collection as well; hope that you recover soon enough to ride it, life truly is too short as mentioned above.

Thank you all! Such a nice welcome.
I think the manual is a good idea, I'm trying to look at the wiring in the tail but the solo seat cover won't release using the key. Anyone have a picture of mechanism to help show the blood pressure?
