Hello! JD from Indianapolis, IN here.

Just purchased a 2005 RC51 Black. Pics in profile.

26k miles
Two Brothers slip ons

Looks pretty much stock, haven't dug into it yet for any modifications. Rode it once, the first time...in the cold and rain.

I'm at a loss of words, huge Suzuki fan...previous owner of 2...built my last bike from the ground up etc. But I like the RC51 and wanted to try something different.

As it warms up, I'll look into doing the standard mods if not already done.

Feel free to reply, email, or PM. Always looking for best practices / mods.

Some things I'm in the market for in the near future:

Rearsets, Dussault stacked plexiglass under tail, front flush turns, 520 chain and sprockets, cut / different seat...similar to a drag bike seat, clear OEM windscreen (will trade my smoked double bubble!), shorty levers, gel grips.

Pics added. Will post more on a nicer day. I'm near the southside / greenwood area. Will try to get out to Putnum, Dragons Tail, and Brown Co this season.

Welcome JD. Your bike looks great.
One tip, if you remove the front side reflectors, check that the fender has the grommets in all the tabs.
If not, they tend to break.
Couple things to add to your mods list: Power Commander, Sato or LadyBird (LBP's) slip-ons, aftermarket Valving and Springs for your forks and shock, 190/55 rear tire. Oh, and throw in a HRC throttle tube too.

Enjoy the 51, it may even make a convert of you.

Welcome and nice find on that RC. For me the only Suzi that compares with the RC51 is the TL-R; yeah I know they're faster but not as visceral...

Duct tape can't fix stupid...but it sure helps muffle the sound

Thanks. Cant wait to ride it! Only had 15mins in the cold and rain. Been non stop re-search before I tear it down some.

The torque is slightly shy from the GSXR, but the HP is light by about 30 from my modified 04. I'm too old to care about out performing every 1000 on the road these days, just want a nice ride with my personal touches.

Actually my old ride came up on Craigslist recently, guy wanted more than I sold it to him for...so decided to take the Honda plunge!
