New sp1 owner.

Hello guys?. Im new to this forum and happy to say i finally have a Honda Rc51 in my garage.
I'm not a newbie when it comes to sportbikes. I currently have a 2004 kawasaki zx10r and i have been riding for 9 years. But this is a completely new experience for me, as i never owned a vtwin before and a honda bike before.
But it all started 2 years ago when i rode my friend Pinagale S for the first time and falled in love with the way those vtwin feels. So i told myself I needed to pull the trigger on the rc51. Now it's finally done and I'm super happy?. The bike is a stock early sp1 with 13000 miles and dealer maintained since day one. One thing is that the bike is a big head turner and i cant stop looking at it myself. Its for sure heavy, big, runs hot and not as refined like my previous bikes or my zx10r. But all those down factors goes away when i hear the intoxicating exhaust sound.
I do plan on using the rc only during the weekends and hopefully keep it for a long time.

Thanks and cheers to all.

Little update with the rc51 guys. I took the bike a part this weekend to find. That i have a full akrapovic titanium system, but unfortunately need some new mufflers and a power commander. Meanwhile I decided to go crazy a chop the mufflers and oh boy she sound even better. Some pics of her new look.

Wood garage floor? Interesting. And I thought about cutting my spare pipes down. They are a little beat up from the guy who gave me them. Probably sound pretty good

Lol for the floor. It's just for insulation and help with the tires during winter. Yes my mufflers were beat up too. But if you have some spare mufflers why no have some fun with them:blush:

I have wanted an RC since before I had a motorcycle license and I read about it in a magazine. I wanted it even more once I saw one in a parking lot (black and shiny) and then heard him rip it out of there. I wanted one even more when they came down to my price range and I picked one up for ~$5k. It's the least comfortable, most obnoxious, and neediest bike I have ever owned. That said, I love every minute of it. The goal is to find a way to keep this and a second bike that I can ride regularly. I can only handle the RC for about an hour before I need a break. Most of that is due to heavier traffic and awful roads. However, once I hit those perfect roads near me with nobody in front, I can't imagine have more fun on any bike. Once I'm tired and hungry and on my way home though, I am reminded of why I want another bike in my garage, lol. I know a lot of people knock the looks and it was regularly compared to Ducatis, but the race decal version, to me, is everyone a sport bike should look like. I regularly open my inside door to the garage through the winter, turn on the light, and just look at it. The only issues I have are finding body pieces that are busted or Chinese made, and finding out how annoying some of the simple fixes on other bikes are on the RC.

I have the full titanium/carbon Akro on my bike and it's amazing. I have the stock exhaust in my basement, and short of an accident claiming my exhaust, it will never see the light of day again. I had issues with the rivets coming off one side and the can pulling apart. I ended up putting it back together, new rivets, and added 2 more rivets to help. It has worked great so far!
