Excited new SP2 owner in Kansas.

Hello everyone. I've been wanting an RC51 for quite some time. I've worked in a Harley Davidson/Honda dealership for 15 years, as a technician. Owned many bikes over the years. But never an RC51. So when the opportunity presented itself recently, I jumped at it. It's an 2006 with 11,xxx miles. Leo Vince slip on set, PC3, undertail kit, and a sergeant seat. Just ordered a second key, and all the parts for the rear seat cowl. Excited to fix a few minor things and upgrade a few others. Also for nicer warmer weather. But for now its going to have to make friends with my 01 Harley Deuce in the garage. They're both V twins. So It should be oaky.

Kansas Cool.

We feel your excitement on acquiring a Classic Sportbike. No other bike on the market is as much fun. Except maybe the Superlegerra. Or maybe that RC213V-S, but I've been personally disappointed with the whole package that was presented by Honda.
Best Regards From The Bad Doctor,
Atif.

Wow #22 that's very nice! My 06 is #199..

You've acquired a very low production number with low miles from the last year built

You may or may not be aware of it but we've had a few discussions on here before about the low production for 2006 & it being the fewest # of RC51 for all years 2000 - 2006..

Those numbers aren't important to some but everyone knows the black ones are also the fastest!

Welcome! I lived in KCMO for six years and I don't think I ever saw an RC the entire time! I'm thinking that a trip down to northern AR is in your future...

This got me thinking. My 2003's VIN ends in 0049, wonder how many were imported to the U.S. that year?

I have often wondered about those numbers myself. I used to see 1 or 2 on my regular rides thru Napa, Lake and Sonoma counties but not so much anymore. My take is they were mass produced but not in CBR numbers. Saw one backed into the side of a hill once so maybe attrition took a few out. I can usually find 4 or 5 on the Bay area CL so they are out there. By the way OP, congrats on your new ride. Always liked those black ones. May have to get one if I can put the $ together. You may have seen a few on here, Wibblys is a really nice one, but several others as well. Enjoy the new ride!
