First rc51

Hey guys. Just got my hands on my first RC51 SP1. Solid bike but needs a makeover. Any tips or things i should look out for? This is my first rc51. My friend bought one and I love it from the first ride. Had to get one.

they're wonderful bikes.

my first suggestion is to do some reading. get the bike in the garage and have a look. pretty well every bike is the same, they're all made of the same stuff. this forum is a wealth of information, but most of it has been discussed. so read first and ask questions later.

^^^^^^ Can't agree with Wibbly more. Cruise the forum, do the internet search thing, and I even pulled the plastics off just to look at everything "under the skirt" so to speak. It is straight forward work that is difficult to screw up. Sometimes just getting your hands dirty will offer a lot of knowledge too. If you have the scratch to do it, it is suggested to find a service manual. Great crapper reading and will definitely help in a tear down.
