Hello from Youtube!
My name is Patrick, aka Jetstream01. Someone commented on one of my Youtube videos linking this forum, and come to find out someone had found one of my videos from a track day at Laguna Seca and shared it here. I've been meaning to join an RC51 forum, so that gave me a good excuse to do so!
I own a black/grey 2005 RC51. I absolutely love my bike to death and ride the crap out of it at every opportunity. I do ride on the street, but have transitioned into almost exclusively track riding more recently. I plan to start racing within a year or two in the 600 class, but I'll always keep my RC since it's so much damn fun. I do all my own work to the bike and enjoy it...although the RC is a pain to work on sometimes as I'm sure most of you know.
I bought my bike with about 7k miles on it with the following mods: Sato Banzai pipes (lucked out!), Scotts steering dampener, CRG levers, undertail (don't know the brand), and flush mount turn signals. I've since added a Power Commander (so I can actually put the proper maps on it) and basically that's it aside from running superbike slicks at the track.
I'd like to get a custom map for it some day, but I found a few good ones online that match my setup pretty well.
Anyways the sound of our bikes is almost unbeatable...and despite what everyone says, it's a VERY capable track bike, even with stock suspension. It's heavy, but capable of running A group pace with no problem.
Check out my Youtube channel if you get a chance! Just search for Jetstream01. (it won't let me link things yet)
Also, I've posted some track pics to my photo albums on here if you'd like to check them out. I'd post them here but it won't let me since I'm a new member.
I'm from Fresno, CA btw-anyone else from the area?
I look forward to being a part of this community and hopefully meeting some of you in person and riding.
