My RC51 experience so far

Matt here from Wisconsin, age 47, been on two wheels since age 10 and as many of you know it just becomes something you need to feel and becomes part of who you are
I have been interested in the RC51 for a good while, reading articles etc.. looking for my next bike to replace my like new 95 GSXR750 next spring. A 70 year old British man had an 02 RC51 for sale close to my work, the pictures were crappy and fuzzy and i dont ever remember seeing an RC51 up close and personal but since it was close thought id check the machine out. So i arrive there and its just badass sexy sleek bulging with muscle.. holy for the cri pete was i taken back grinning from ear to ear!!! This machine moved me like no other bike ever!! The sound of the TB exhaust, the whine of the gear driven cams!! Thank you Honda for creating such a machine!! I went home and my wife greeted me and asked what i thought of the bike, i said wow! theres so many words, a passion, a feeling it was amazingly muscular sexy sleek and strong... the hair was standing on my arms!!! We went and looked at it together she thought it was hot and said if its got what you want get it, now let me see what you look like on it. Paid down, pick it up Tuesday, my wife is everyday amazingly good to me. We cruise the nice indian res roads together on our Valkyrie but the RC is for me to enjoy going to work or hitting the country roads.

If you like the bike now just sitting there, wait until it's your bike and you ride it. The smile factor is off the freckin' chart every time I ride mine. Congrats and welcome.

Sounds like you have a fantastic wife telling you to buy a bike.
Both my RC51' s i bought without the wife knowing then told her when i had plucked up the courage.
Still married but i wouldn't recommend doing it this way to anyone

Hey Matt, since you live in v-twin country, how could you have made a better choice? Enjoy.

Post some photos as soon as it arrives...

Picked up the machine tonight right after work, what a great experience and yep huge smile the short drive home, cant what to get out of town and hit some roads out in the country. My wife won’t ride on it, it’s got no passenger foot pegs anyhow but she sure likes how it looks, pictures just dont do the RC51 much justice, I’ll post some as soon as i can figure it out. Looks like a beautiful bike! Should be fun for years to come. Does your wife ride too or she just appreciates your enjoyment?

My wife is interested in riding her own bike but needs to learn all the basics, she plans on enrolling in a class spring of 2019 they have a bunch of low power mellow bikes at the technical college just for beginners. It’s something she always wanted to do.
