New SP1 owner and it’s a VTR!!

Hi All, I bought my “VTR” SP1 at the back end of last year as a bit of a project. Basically it’s all there just needs a little TLC.

It’s a UK bike, 15k miles, well serviced but not used much in the last 4-5 years and it’s trying to be a Joey Dunlop replica but the wheels are way to gold colour.

I had RSV’s back in the day but probably my best actual road bike ever was a std 97 vtr1000, not the fastest but was so comfy and easy to ride fast on the bumpy back roads, couldn’t afford the SP1 so time to scratch the itch!!

Plans....not masses sort what’s not right, wheels (have to be repainted - black?), update rear shock, replace rusty fasteners, new tyres, add rearsets and what ever else comes along but I’m not going mad!! I do a couple of trackdays a year so it will get prepped for a good airing at some point this year 😀.

As a starter....does anyone have a Rc51 SP1 manual pdf (US or UK) they could send me? If so please pm, thanks....
