Smile Hello from Canada!

Hi, just bought a '01 RC51 to go with my '79 CBX.

Bike is good nick but I am sure that I can clean it up further.

The bike currently has an aftermarket tail light section with integrated indicators. I am looking to getting the bike back to OEM spec.

Does anyone out there have an OEM tail light and rear indicators in their garage which they are happy to get rid of for cash?

Let me know if you do.

Cheers!

Dave.

the sp1 standard undertray is no longer available, and idiots keep buying them for 800 dollars.

best to figure out a better way. the standard stuff is absolutely hideous, there's a reason nobody has them.

I want to get my new SP1 back to an OEM look. Surely some folks out there have these fenders in the shed collecting dust?

Part No is 80100-MCF-A20.

no sir. those things are hen's teeth. they go for several hundred dollars on ebay.

as i said, you're not the only one who feels compelled to return to stock. it seems that bikes start gross, then people spruce them up, then later on, people decide that they need them to be original.

pretty well every stock undertail out there got chopped up because it was so ugly. the oem replacements are now out of production and not available from honda.

at the prices these things are commanding you could buy some seriously nice stuff... or get a new sp2 undertray from honda, source an sp2 subframe, and swap it all.

Thanks Wibbly,
Are there any issues with integrating the SP2 subframe to the SP1 bike, WRT bolting at the front and fitting within the SP1 rear cowling?

No. The sp2 subframe goes right on. However the sp1 rectifier has a different bolt pattern and the harness routes differently.

Tail cowls are universal across all years.

You can try to find an uncut sp1 tray but be warned they're hard to come by and very sought after. Not many good 51 parts go under the radar, the parts buyers and sellers are like vultures.
