piston installation

Hoy do you install pistons in the RC? flip the engine over, pull out the crank/pistons and reinstall? or leave crank in a just dc eods? I'm thinking of letting the shop put in wiseco's and want to know how labor intensive it is...

If the crank is ok and no works must be done on it, you need to take apart the whole engine but the crankcases. Those don't need to be separated but the con rods must come out completely and reinstalled with the new pistons back in again.

You cannot do a proper job without taking the engine off the bike.

I'd say about 3-4 hours work with all the parts laying on the bench and no unexpected stalls along the way.
