OHLINS FG322 Front Forks

Hi Guys,

I spoke directly to John Johansson from OHLINS in Vanforetag - Sweden regarding re manufacturing FG322 ( RC51) Front Forks.

The good news is they would look at re- manufacturing the fork.

The bad news is that a minimum of 50 orders would have to be made to make re tooling financially viable.

Then (with today's rate) that would be $ 3,223 each.

So all i need is another 49 wealthy or entrepreneurial RC51/SP2 riders

Graham

Well IMHO your not gonna find 49 guys whom want to spend that on a 12 year old bike...
I would, but I have a major sickness like most of the core members here.
Most people will most likely not be looking to spend that as we could have a second RC for that amount of coin.

That's not a bad price, and I'm sure that collecting 49 buyers a few years ago (pre-2008) wouldn't been a problem.
But fast forward to today, and I'm not sure enough demand would be present to justify the expense.

Especially when you can have Kyle Racing fit the Ohlins NIX30 cartridges into the SP2 forks for around $1600.
That and possibly replace the OEM sliders with ones plated in TiN or DLC for low sliding friction.
They won't have the gold bling and say Ohlins on the side, but they should still be some great performing forks.

The fact that Ohlins resumed limited production of the previously discontinued HO204 shock shows they're reasonable if there's still demand.
Maybe they'll find 50 buyers to give them reason to produce a limited run for FG322 forks as well.

Thanks for the insight Sub. In Australia we don't have the luxury of the bikes being so cheap. The SP2 here, (those in Mickey Mouse condition) sell for approx $14,000 upwards.

Bear, if you have legit set of FG322 I'll give you 2.k

I don't want to threadcrap here. The OP is hoping for a market but acknowledging the difficulties right off the bat. Maybe 25 is doable for both buyers and the seller. Better to try and fail than to fail to try....

I'd be in for that price new shipped. Hope it helps.

HI KW,

2 down 48 to go!

I can only quote what Mr Johannson said. And he stated 50. Although and hypothetically, if 25 people forwarded their monies I am sure they would come to the party!

Yeah I've heard bikes are pretty expensive down under.
However, no where near as crazy as Denmark, where taxes can drive an average bike over $50000.
Also I understand the SP2 is quite the rarity in OZ.
I already have a set of older FG832 forks, but otherwise I'd be interested in a set of FG322.
Good luck with the quest.

Yea sub,

the sp2 's are quite exy here. Although I must say ( and no offence and its only my opinion ) the paint colour and stickers kits on the Aussie models look better than the American version.

I am certain that sooner or later ( probably later) a set will make their presence known.
