Rear shock

I want you to give me your opinion. My friend has a gsxr 1000 rear shock that "would" mount right up. I weigh 165lbs and have no other suspension mods. Would I benefit from swapping my factory shock for this one.

I'm going to hazard a guess and say no.

I bought an Ohlins for a GSXR1000 K5 that would measure up to fit as it had the same length and same bottom width of clevis and the top bush was the same diameter but had to be trimmed by 1mm only to find that the Honda shock has a longer bottom clevis and the Suzuki Ohlins would not fit on trying. So I would say dont do it.

Depends on the shock. Penske's I believe are more friendly to swapping between different bikes as you can change parts and add bushings/spacers etc to get it to fit multiple applications.

But if I were you, I would just buy one for an RC51 or test fit it if you can.
