Installed DK link but shock now hits swing arm

I just installed a HO204 and a DK link on my 2003 SP2, and I noticed that now everything is together the shock spring is so close to the swing arm that the two could touch. I took a really long look and I don't think they are touching now, but only because of the way the spring happens to be rotated, and I think that the weld on the swing arm actually extends between the coils near the bottom. This is something I was not expecting to deal with. I called Dan Kyle, and Marc suggested this spring 1092-36/105 for my weight with a DK link, I weigh 182lb before gear. The spring seems really big for me, and that could possibly be the reason it is touching.

I can't be the first person to have this problem, so how have you guys overcoming this issue?

How's the shock's height adjuster? Could you take a picture underneath were the rebound dumping knob is located on the shock?

The shock's upper mount, how is it placed on the frame? It's not the same either way

When did you call them?

Is the spring rubbing the swingarm or not?

Usually the best solution is to remove the swing arm and grind back the weld a little bit so it clears the spring.

Here are the pictures you requested. What do you mean about the shocks upper mount not being the same either way?

Do you think I would have more room if I shortened the shock to reduce the ride height?

Let me know what you see...

I called them 4-5 weeks ago when I first purchased the shock. I think I talked to Mark; I called Dan Kyle and told the lady I had an RC51, and she said "I'll put you through to our resident RC expert!" He told me I need this spring (which seems HUGE to me), and that if anything it could be on the under-sprung side for track use. What do you think about this spring rate (1092-36/105) for my weight; 182lb before gear?

This spring is not rubbing now, but I am confident that it will hit under normal street use.

Good to know about the sidestand, thanks for the offer, I will likely take you up on it!!! I haven't taken it off the rear stand yet, but it looks a lot taller lol

What size spring do you have on your shock, and what is your weight?
