SP2 guts in SP1 forks?

Can this be done? I know someone that is putting race tech in some SP2 forks and I wonder if I can swap his SP2 valves into my SP1 forks for a cheapo upgrade as I have no money .

I have never heard of this as they are different sizes I believe.

I was under the assumption that physically both forks were the same and interchangeable. I thought the SP2's had different valving.

There are some subtle differences like the top out spring length etc...

If you decide to try a retro fit (or not) post up your findings. This would be good information for the archives.

This will be happening soon I hope. Anyone have any good sites with fork service information to share?
