Penske 8987

I found a Penske 8987 w/ piggy back reservoir will this fit my SP2. Most of the one I see use the remote reservoir. The Penske shock was on CL for a good price, but fitted for a 05/06 Suzuki GSXR 1k.

I'm gonna say probably not...unless you can get some cross reference material.

Length, type of mounting clevis or such diameter of the mounting bolts.

If it was me I would flog if and use the money to buy a shock that you know fits...

Just my .02 cents

I talk to Penske they were not sure about the clearnce of the piggy back, but as for the shock itself I would need the right bushing. After all said and done i would have half the cost of Ohlins, Elka or even a new Penske.

The Ohlins has a piggy back res...it sits perpendicular to the shock. Which way does the Penske res sit?

Other than the hydraulic preload adjuster on the Ohlins I think it may just work if you can get the spacing correct.

What about length?...

Garage
I do not think it will work on either Sp1 or Sp2...Piggy back res is sitting real high.
Will contact rear tank mount IMO !!!
This is the reason all Penske shocks for RC's are remote res.
