Elka Shock

I ordered a new 3 way Elka adjustable shock from Accelerated Technologies today at what I consider a great price of $ 750.00 (high and low speed compression and rebound). Once stock components are exhausted, Elka will no longer be making a shocks for the RC hence the reduced price while inventory lasts.
John Sharrard is owner of Accelerated Tech and is considered one of the better suspension tuners in Canada and he will be setting up the bike with the appropriate spring and valving. He will also be at my first track day (Calabogie Motorsport Park) to fine tune settings which is another reason why I went with them. If in the first year the spring and valving isn't right, they will change it at no charge. Perhaps now I won't be going through tires in 1 to 1-1/2 days!
For those that are interested, Google Calabogie and check out the track. 5.05 km (3.05 miles), 20 turns. The track is cut out of the boreal forest 100 km east of Ottawa Ontario. It's a really challenging track.

So you got a stage 4. Nice I just picked up a used one for $650, It's going in to Elka for Hydro preload upgrade soon. I am just working on other bills right now.

John at Elka could have got you a wicked deal as well. Did you not see my post on Elka a little while ago ???

Enjoy.

A good buddy of mine who now lives out here on the west coast has turned many laps on that track. As a matter of fact I think his wife is from Calabogie and I I have a set of forks revalved/resprung by the good folks at Accelerated Technologies. Seem do the job quite well, I'm going to swap them for a set of reworked forks from GP Suspensions to see any differences and they are cleaner.

Yes I saw your post. I went with Accelerated Tech because he is often at track meets and therefore can be of some assistance with the final setup. $ 750.00 for a new shock in my opinion is a great deal. Personally, I don't need the hydraulic preload. Its a great option if going from solo to two up riding'; track, not so much. Ride height is still adjustable, just not as easily. Next year I will work on the Ohlins 30mm cartridge kit. If someone has a used one, I would certainly be interested!

John from Accelerated Technologies will take good care of you; he has a lot of experience with the RC51. Hes done many laps at Bogie, and with your feedback, hell have your RC dialed-in in no time.

That is what I'm counting on. I will have a Fox double clicker for sale if anyone is interested. It has very few track days on it since being rebuilt. It is set up for someone weighing 190-200 lb.

I am looking for a deal on either an Elka or Ohlins shock. Did you know if I can get one for a good price? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
