Hotbodies Undertail Lights

I have searched for hours and have seen several different ideologies for retrofitting brighter lights to the Hotbodies undertail but have not found anything extremely useful. What I have found appears to consume a lot of time and fitting. The Hotbodies undertail lights are "dangerously" dim and I need to do something prior to riding season so I do not become a hood ornament.

I don't want to "OCC" the fairing to get a different taillight to fit as I lack the "finish" skill in the fit & finish department. I would like to retain the round LED's.

I found Customled.com sells universal round LED's but was wondering if anyone on the forum has actually done this modification to the undertail.

http://www.customled.com/products/ro...d_clusters.htm

Between buying the lights, 4 wire conversion kit, and relay it would cost around 125 bucks so I want to be sure I can make it work prior to purchase.

Please share your experiences, thanks!

Re: Hotbodies Undertail Lights

I pulled the trigger. Biggest part will likely be taking old lights out cleanly and installing new ones cleanly

Re: Hotbodies Undertail Lights

I made my own taillights for my hot body under tail. It was about $80 for all the supplies needed and took about 5 hours to do.

James, is that the Toyota taillights? That one looked like a real PITA. Looks great though.

Nope, 53 Chevy BelAir center taillight lenses, pieces from a mid 90's Blazer taillight, 2 inch PVC, and the reflection cones out of some cheap walmart flashlights.

More info on the mod.

Re: Hotbodies Undertail Lights

Thanks guys. I am going to attempt using a heat gun to take out the lights and use clear silicon to put the new ones in. We will see.
