Need help!

This is my 1st RC51, got it over the weekend but I am in need of some help. It is an 03 with right over 10k miles. The upper cowl has 2 large cracks an part of it missing, other then that there is nothing broken however the guy who had it before me thought it would be cool to paint the bike black with blue flames. Now he did no prep work on it just started painting with the fairings still on it and the decals, then did not clear coat it. Where would be the best place to get the upper cowl with out spending a lot of money but still get oem quality. And how should I go about getting the paint off that is already chipping without pulling the stock paint off? I am trying to get this bike back to stock. Thank you.

There are places that can repair your plastics. Not knowing where you are located but you can google your area to find them.

Mine is an '03 too with similar miles...

Here is where you can get a service manual

Here is where you can usually find the cheapest OEM parts around.

Welcome...

Eww... What a mess!

Rattle can spray paint is usually removable with cellulose paint thinner (Of the type you can buy in car accessory stores) - it shouldn't remove the 2-pack original paint nor decals if you just wipe it on, then off. Use microfiber cloths & plenty of patience.

Then use a dremmel & some Plastex to repair cracks. It works quite well if you apply it right. Then get it professionally resprayed and fit replica decals.
Full original kits are available from here, about $150=$175 USD shipped: http://www.bike-stickers.com/homepage.htm

There's probably more dissappointments to unearth under the fairing though...

Euro RC51 SP2: HRC WSB Ti Hi-Level, T1 Airbox & Snorkel, PCIII, Dymag CA5 Carbon Wheels, Ti64 Spindles (F, R & Swing Arm), Mori Link, Maxton GP7 Shock & Ohlins 832 Forks, Brembo GP Calipers & SBK narrow track (F), Braketech Disc (R), Brembo billet Underslung x 2 Brembo RCS, Tyga Triple, 7075 Stem, Probolt Titanium all over, Babyface rearsets, MR Complete Carbon Lineup, Custom Undertail & CBR 1000 LED, Watsen LED Indicators, Harris Brace, Giles clip-ons, Corbin seat, etc. 2013 BOTY.

Thank you both for the help I am starting the disassembly of the bike, I am hopping that there is noting hiding under it all.
