fuel pump not priming. is it actually my pump?

There are TONS of threads about problems with the pump not priming and I have read through mostly all of them. I have checked all fuses, relays (including fuel pump relay and bank-angle sensor relay), I've swapped them with other relays for kicks and giggles, I have unplugged my PCIII USB, I have a fully charged, brand new battery checked by the parts store as well as myself, I have checked the wiring harness thoroughly for frayed or disconnected wires. I would say the only thing I haven't done is check for bad grounds because that is my least favorite thing in the world.

I believe the problem is actually my pump though because I tried jumping directly from the battery to the pump and nothing happened. I thought I was just doing it wrong but I watched a few youtube videos and they did exactly what I did, connecting to the three pronged plug that comes off of the pump and connects toward the seat on the left side. When they touched it they got some sparks and it primed. Mine did nothing. So is it actually my pump?

Have you jumped out the tip over sensor??

This may just be a bad pump then...sounds like all bases covered.

So I'm not crazy? Thank you! Lol

I saw people posting saying "it's NEVER the pump" and "I've seen five thousand RCs and never replaced a single fuel pump" so I just figured I was wrong. Running power to the pump yields nothing and the plug going to the pump from the harness is pushing 13.45 volts when I turn the key on (this is what the service manual says to test). Manual literally says "if there is voltage, replace fuel pump." Lol

How does one jump out the tip sensor? And if the tip sensor was an issue would I still be getting voltage from the harness toward the pump via that three prong plug?

Haha thank you Jondog. Would you concur my problem is the pump itself? When I look at prices online, one place had the pump listed for almost $400! A local shop I called quoted me around $150. There are a few used ones online and on here for between $90 and $175. Lastly there are strange, questionable looking generic ones on eBay for only $40 or $50... I mean I could get 8 of those before matching the price of Honda's OEM apparently.

I looked there already, they show part #7 to be the fuel pump. But in the listing, they have no pump listed for sale. Nor the pump number. However for the SP1 they show 16730-MCF-003 as available for about $150.
Same thing at Honda Nation.
Are the SP1 pumps different than SP2?

Try Ben at www.RC51parts.com

My research has shown conflicting results so far. Some say that the tanks and pumps are identical between the SP1 and SP2, though someone in the UK claimed they were different there. There was a thread (I think on here) with a guy saying he could NOT fit an SP1 pump into his SP2 tank but like most threads out there it has no resolution or absolute answer. Oh, internet, such a wealth of information both wrong and right. I'll call a couple local places and see whether they think SP1 and SP2 pumps are interchangeable.

Also sent an e-mail on RC51parts asking if he knows for sure if there's a difference and if he has any in stock. I'll post his answer, hopefully it's definitive.
