Thumbs down connectors and corrosion

I was repairing the wiring for the flush mount turn signals the previous owner tried to wire in, pretty lousy job. Well I was checking out all the factory wiring and connectors and none of them have any type of weather proof stoppers in the back of the wires. The connectors and terminals can get any type of moisture or dirt in them, has anybody had issues with that ? I checked 4 connectors and all have issues with corrosion and will eventually need the pins replaced. Kinda disappointed with Honda in this, do newer bikes have weather proofing ? Newer than 05'

I, and many others, use dielectric grease and give them a light coat.
