speedo problem!

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone here has the same problem as me.I noticed that my speedometer is off by about 10 mph. So when I'm going 40 it says I'm going 51! I'm not sure if it's a common problem but I meet another guy with the same bulge as myself and he was running into the same problem.anybody know how to fix this issue?

If you are equipped with different sprocket sizes than 16 front/ 40 rear then that is a natural effect.
All you need in that case, is a SpeedoHealer device and you're good to go.

Yeah let me double check that. But what if it is stock sprockets? The guy I bought the bike from didn't really know much about what the previous owner moded on his bike.

Put the bike on a paddock stand, put some chalk on each of the sprockets & count.

I'd be willing to wager it'll be 15/41 or 15/42. It's such a common mod and this will give the effect you're seeing. Check if you have a Speedohealer that's not calibrated (Under the seat unit). If not - then you'll need to get one. They come up used. You can ask, or buy one from a vendor here such as rider's discount. Not too difficult to calibrate and then as Makis has said - you're good to go.
