Known issue on SP2 swingarms?

I was scrolling down on my FB wall and bummed onto this

I am not sure if this person is a member here.

Have you ever seen or heard this happen before?

It amazes me that a Honda welding can crack apart like that

And the dialogue (Red is the owner of the SP2 swingarm)

Hi yes its me. Found this about 2 years ago and wrote to Honda but got no where as it was out of warranty etc etc. Got it welded but noticed when I was in Jerez on a euro trackday that it had welded again. I never was happy with the original repair weld any ways. Next option if it goes again is to bin this swingarm and replace with another.

Bad luck man.
But what strikes me odd is if that happened from a Honda's construction fault or if it was caused by anyone of the bike's previous owners.
That's why I posted it here, so if anyone else had a same experience could share it with the community.

Nice meeting you here too buddy.
Are you located in Europe?

Hi no probs.
When it appeared the first tiime there was no evidence of any damage to the bike or arm and having read it somewhere these welds are there to prevent that happening after the arm frame is bent during manufacture. I thought at the time Honda may be interested in it but did not get any where with them. I am in a pissin wet Bonnie Scotland.

Makis - Wasn't trying to give you a hard time. You may have meant "bumped", but "bummed" is also appropriate here. In English that means, "Dammit, what a downer."

Oh ok...I see.
Well I used the google translate on that and the word "bummed" in greek translates as "crash" so, that's why I used it.
