Sidestand

I went on the search thingie & found no answer. My sons 2004 Nicky doesn't seem to lean enough on the sidestand. Seems like the bike will fall over if the rear tire goes flat. The short stand points almost straight down. Is this a problem & if so is there a fix?
I have an Aprilia & the Euro stands were that way, the USA stands were modified & angle out more & are longer.

""IF" the bike is in stock form.... and sitting on level ground, Then even with a flat rear tire. The RC-51 will stand on it's kickstand.

Some people complain because the bike leans over too much in stock trim and install adjustable length kick stands or cut the OEM and weld extensions on.

Post up a close up picture of your situation and let us take a look.

Or raise the back by fitting 190/55R17 and a better afternarmet shock with uprated (more progressive) link. Handling will improve... Then he may find he actually needs to extend the side stand.

What size tire is on the bike, and is rear shock stock or aftermarket? Maybe the bike has been lowered? Is the kickstand the OEM?

Pilot Power 190/50, stock shock Kick stand oem. Going to check ride height. Linkage looks stock. Settles a lot when rider on bike. We both weigh about 200lbs.

What's the rear preload set at? Are the forks dropped in their yokes much?
