maps, maps, maps!

i keep reading about downloading & tweaking maps.

i dont think i fully understand the entire map install, upload & use idea.

do you need to have a Power Commander installed or can i just have someone that has one upload a map to my ECU for me?

i understand that if i wish to change my map, i need the Power Commander.

For the RC51 I think the only way to change maps is to use a Power Commander. With some other bikes you can send your ECU off to various places that can 'flash' the ECU, i.e. change settings and the map(s).

Once you have a Power Commander, you can do it yourself. You connect the Power Commander to your computer and then send a new map to the Power Commander, and the Power Commander knows to then use that one.

You are correct. What exhaust set up are you running? Any engine mods? I may have something lying around for you.

Like I said in the other thread, sell the K&Ns to someone on Speedzilla......that is part of your issue.

Let me take a look see in my map archives.
