Is it normal?

For the radiator fluid to become a geyser when burping the rads?

Someone told me that could mean a blown head gasket, is that true?

It did this with the radiator cap off while warming the engine for a short while?

Doesn't sound good to me, SubSailor is right though a little more detail is needed. Do you have a thermostat in there? Was it already warm when you took the cap off or was this from cold?

Has just realized that I don't care what it costs until I get the bill! :roll eyes: ...

I think I just let it get too hot withought paying attention, with the cap off.. No oil leaks so I don't think the head went, but I was wondering if that could be a possibility.

Yes, if you rev the bike with the rad cap off, it will spit coolant out.

You'll usually know If the head gasket is gone as it'll probably do one or some of the following.

Blow coolant out of your reservoir, if you don't physically see it you'll notice a drop in reserve.

White smoke on start up if it's leaking back into the cylinder.

Dirty coolant, usually a light brown from carbon deposits as the burnt gas is pushed into the cooling system.

My money is on the thermostat being wide open and you had it running too long with the cap off. Unless it's a rather large leak I don't think it would gusher out like you mentioned, but tht water pump will have it gushing.

Good luck with it!

Thanks Rossco, im keeping a close eye on it, none of the aforementioned symtoms have surfaced so I think I'm in good shape, however I now know what to look for thanks again!
