Headlight splitting

Has anyone split the reflector and the glass/plastic clear lens apart as mine needs cleaning on the inside?

Yes. I remember one member saying he put his in the oven at a very low setting (like maybe 150F?) and the heat allowed him to separate the lens from the bucket. But I don't remember how successfully he was able to replace it.

What about putting it back together?

Same, used my wife's hair blow dryer to separate mine when I did the eyebrow mod. Whichever way you go wear some gloves as things tend to get hot....

Garage
I put them in the oven. 150-200
Be careful watch it only takes a couple minutes.

You just want the glue to loosen up a little.
Use a flathead screw driver to get the tabs up just enough to slide it out.

THAT CRAP GETS EVERYWHERE!!!
I still have a screw driver with it on there.

If it gets on the lense, it's not coming off.

Just be cautious and you won't have an issue.

Putting back together is the same process.

Right there.
You just said soooo much more than the words themselves even come close to meaning. Good post!

Or you could pour in a little ethanol, shake around and then pour back out, repeat a couple times.

Did wonders on my dads old CB400
