chain size

Greetings RC owners..

Just picked up a new to me '01 RC51. Sold my TL1000S and went the sport tourer route...and that wasn't for me. Still liked the more aggressive twins..so RC it was.

Trying to see exactly what I have in regards to driveline, and wondering if you guys (gals) can help.

I'm pretty sure front sprocket is 16T...although I haven't pulled cover yet to verify. Rear is 40T. The chain is RK, and reads as follows, 0329 and 50SX01. I tried looking that up to see if 530, 525, 520, etc...no luck. Anyone else know, or know how to determine what chain it is, so I can order the correct sprockets.

It is running the 190/55. I understand 41 T rear sprocket will allow the 55 profile to clear swingarm. Anyone know if 42 will, or should I just drop the front to 15.

Sorry for so much in a first post. Thanks all for any input.

stock is 530chain and 16/40 sprockets

many here convert to a high end 520 and lightweight sprockets. with a 15/41 or 42 combo.

i run 15/41 with a 520 chain, very pleased. got it from here

I've ran a 16/42 with a 190/55 on my SP2, with no problems.

With stock hearing you'll be done with the 55 profile.
Much better turn in.

Lots of people are running 41, 42, and a few 43's out there too.
15/41 is the most common conversion, (I believe) 15/42 is probably the next most common.
I use 15/42 x 520 with a 190/55 rear tire, I had to add an extra link in my chain to accommodate this set-up.

I easily sell 30 of the 15\41 kits to any 1 of the other gearing combinations.
