Stock Paint Vs Re-paint

I love the hell out of my RC.
One reason is because of the stock paint job.
I love the look of the RC. It is so iconic. Instantly recognizable as an RC51.
The bike just looks like sex on wheels in stock trim.

I have never seen an repainted RC that I liked. It never looks like an RC and I find it hard to recognize.

Maybe somebody can post pics that can change my mind????

I'm proud of my repaint

But I still feel that the stock 03 is a sexy paint scheme, so I have no vote.

To each their own, its your bike do what makes you happy.

Also custom painted bikes seam to have a lower resale value/harder to sell, I will never sell mine so it doesn't bother me.

That's not bad, at least you can still tell it's an RC.

I wanted something different but also something that looked like it could have been a OEM scheme

No doubt stock paint is best, but whose bike is it anyway? Maybe you bought a wreck, I certainly would not buy all new o.e.m. plastic. I like James bike and he has the only one like it.This is my fave for something different- not mine- I was going to use it for track plastic scheme, good visibility.

@avionicstech
That's a picture I modified years ago.
Changed the red to blue, and modified the headlights.

For original bodywork, I prefer original colors, as anything else tells me instantly the bike has most likely been down at some point of it's life....

But in the future my bodywork won't be standard any more, as it'll have carbon Kevlar bodywork, so it'll be painted in some replica endurance colors. Ahahahahahaaaa!

The stock scheme of the rc's is some of my favorite one's honda did. If my back was in great shape when I got it, I would feel bad painting it. Mine however was in pieces, so i'm painting it black/white/gold. really to each their own, as long as you love it, do it!
